Archived Fibre Optic Sensors
A Fibre Optic Amplifier for use on glass and flexi-glass applications. With a range of 1 to 20mm (increases to 100mm in through beam mode) the unit has switched or analogue outputs.
The AFP 989 S series of minitature light barriers have either an NPN or PNP output and require a 10 - 30 Vdc supply voltage. You can adjust the sensitivity via a potentiometer, and there is a small red led indicator showing the output status.
The AFP234 Fibre Optic Amplifier is high resolution and can work with up to 4 channels. The simple teach in setup routine couple with the integrated logic AND/OR functions makes it ideal for applications where multiple sensing points are required.
The resolution is up to 0.05mm, there is an optional analogue output and the measurements are temperature compensated.
The IFA fibre optic amplifiers are well suited to fast applications where an 8 kHz sampling rate is required. The response time is < 60µm. The analogue output is 0,5-5VDC and there is a PNP/NPN switching output as well. The range in reflex mode is up to 100mm and in trough beam it is up to 1000mm. The in built OFF delay timer can be set between 2 and 200mS, you can adjust the sensitivity and select from a wide range of fibre optic cables.

r 2m when used in a through beam configuration.
The 10-30 Vdc supply is reverse polarity and short circuit protected, the output options include 0-20mA, 4-20mA & 0-10 Vdc. The response time is as little as 120uS.
