The Metron 2 is an award winning, flexible, reliable and affordable range of GSM/GPRS telemetry devices, designed, developed and manufactured
by Powelectrics. Metron 2 connects thousands of different sensors to the internet, giving you secure web based data access through a simple web browser, visible on a computer, tablet or smartphone and it can alert you when defined thresholds are crossed or a state has changed. Thousands of Metron 2 devices are deployed globally, monitoring data from many sensors including flow
, vibration, noise, wind speed & direction, humidity, pH, contamination etc. They are often used for tank level measurement
and for condition monitoring
, to give early warning of equipment failure and prevent costly stoppages.
Devices are delivered ready to install with simple instructions and no programming experience is needed. Powelectrics can configure units prior to dispatch or remotely via our Metron View software
and they are easily tested on site via the interactive display.

Powelectrics are a technical company with 25 years experience and a sharp commercial focus. We strive to ensure our solutions are as cost-effective and user-friendly as possible, designed to minimise initial investment costs, solution development costs and the ongoing costs of maintenance and communications. Metron 2 offers exceptional value, from inexpensive GSM/GPRS communications, to an interactive integral display, which eliminates the need for expensive local gauges. Metron 2 devices have four inputs, which means up to four sensors can be monitored with just one device and one sim card. Metron 2 is also extremely flexible. Metron 2 can be supplied for use with external power (Metron2/S) and there are options for integral battery (Metron2/SSM) and solar power (Metron2/S/SOL-SYS), which means they can be completely self-contained for temporary applications or where there is no power available. With its sturdy, weatherproof enclosure and operational temperatures range from minus 25 to plus 65 degrees centigrade, Metron telemetry is suited to tough environments - even underneath a moving train!
Metron2 is compatible with tens of thousands of sensors, offering amazing versitility in the range of applications it can service. Powelectrics are also a well established and reputable sensor distributor, offering sensors from over 100 respected international suppliers. For example, in the case of tank level monitoring, devices can take signals from typical submersible level sensors, but also ultrasonic sensors and radar sensors to avoid physical contact with tank contents. This flexibility allows Powelectrics tank level telemetry solutions to accommodate any shape or height of tank and even the most aggressive tank contents, including liquids, gases and even granules and fine powders. Powelectrics have completed many tank level
projects including fuel oil
, cryogas, LPG
, waste products, chemicals
including water additives, agrochemicals
, animal feeds
, food and beverages. Please see MetronATEX
for products that must comply with the ATEX regulations.
Powelectrics sensor connected solutions are used in a growing number of industries, including bulk liquid & gas distribution
, waste collection
, utilities, pumping and environmental
applications, public & commercial transport
. We can provide all or part of a fully integrated, end to end telemetry solution including hardware (Metron2 and MetronATEX), installation (in the UK), software (MetronView, Fuel Management System (FMS) and bespoke software development to suit your application), excellent rates on sim cards and a huge range of sensors. Powelectrics are also a well-established and reputable sensor distributor, offering sensors from over 100 respected international suppliers including flow
, vibration, noise, wind speed & direction, humidity, pH, contamination sensors, environmental sensors and many more.

It is possible to expand the Metron2 to include a 5 channel pulse counting card providing a system that has 4 analogue inputs and 5 pulse inputs. The pulse inputs can be used for water, gas and electricity meter reading. It is most commonly used to measure the flow of liquids and gases, as in the case of measuring cubic metres of water at a pumping station, but can also be used to measure fuel, AdBlue and any other meter. You can use the Metron2 to measure level in a tank and the amount dispensed, or the level in a river and the amount of water abstracted.

MetronAS (Augmented Solution) offers a range of bespoke solutions usually, although not exclusively, based on Powelectrics award winning
Metron2 telemetry hardware and MetronVIEW data viewing software.
MetronAS offers the tradition benefits of Metron2 by connecting sensors to the internet, giving secure web based data access through a simple web browser, offering multiple power options and remote configuration of the Metron2 device. The augmented element varies according to the application. This option is ideal for customers seeking a more sophisticated graphical interface on site, in addition to the regular and historical data collected via MetronVIEW. Solutions generally incorporate a full colour high resolution graphical display and allow extensive customisation, including the ability to incorporate representations of the actual process, such as tanks and their levels and also customer’s graphics. Suited to the harshest industrial environments.

MetronView enables you to view data from your sensors on your computer, tablet or smartphone. Receive alarms, interface data into your software applications and remotely
configure certain devices. MetronVIEW is a web based data collection platform
, designed and maintained by Powelectrics, for use with Metron2
and other telemetry devices. As part of the industrial internet of things, MetronVIEW allows you to see current and historic data from thousands of different types of sensors, securely via a web browser. Data can be viewed as tables and graphs and MetronVIEW can also alert you when a defined threshold has been crossed or a state has changed or if a device has not reported in. There is no limit on the number of users and no limit to how much historical data can be stored. Powelectrics can establish multiple levels of data access within a MetronVIEW user's organisation, meaning that individuals or your own customers will only access the data that they are authorised to view.
MetronVIEW has been designed and is constantly evolving to maximise flexibility and ease of use. It can be used instantly, with no adaptation or it can be customised for your needs, creating bespoke reports and data exports and adding your corporate colours and logos. Using an API, MetronVIEW can interface with existing management & control systems, such as Navision, SAP, SCADA systems and more. Customers may purchase a licence to install MetronVIEW on their own servers.
